Ranked in the world’s top 100 universities and located in the heart of one of the world’s most liveable cities, the University of Adelaide (UoA) offers a rare combination of elite academic performance and an unrivalled quality of life. Established in 1874, we are Australia’s third oldest accredited university (Provider ID: PRV12105), a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight research-intensive universities, and regarded as Australia’s cradle for Nobel Prize winners – we are associated with one third of Australia’s laureates.
UoA is recognised globally as a leading research university (in 2024: QS World University Rankings (#89), Times Higher Education World University Rankings (#111), and Academic Ranking of World Universities (#132)), which exemplifies the excellent work of our teachers and researchers, who educate future generations and aim to solve some of society’s most pressing challenges (see: https://www.adelaide.edu.au/).
Our student body reflects our diverse international community, made up of 33% international students (8,455 in 2023) from more than 100 countries.
UoA’s main campus is located in the centre of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia (also known as the Festival State). The campus is surrounded by the state’s art gallery, museum, and library, and forms part of Adelaide’s cultural promenade, resulting in a mix of historical sandstone buildings and contemporary, state-of-the-art teaching, learning and research facilities. The campus hosts a range of events and activities that socially and culturally enrich our students’ wellness and success, together with an unparalleled calendar of festivals that Adelaide offers, throughout the year.
Adelaide is home to people from all over the world. With a growing population of 1.37 million, it’s blessed with an abundance of green spaces and minimal traffic congestion. Adelaide is also one of the most affordable mainland Australian cities, with a cost of living up to 12% lower than Sydney or Melbourne, and the lowest median rent in Australia (see: https://www.studyadelaide.com).
UoA’s comprehensive range of student services include pre-semester orientation programs, advisory services through a dedicated, specialised international student unit, English language support, career advice, counselling, and well-being support, and accommodation services.
UoA’s social programs and activities for international students includes regular social activities that promote English language and cultural knowledge development; peer mentoring; and over 130 clubs and societies (including sport) (see: https://international.adelaide.edu.au/life-on-campus).
Accommodation plays an important role in establishing the foundation for academic success. ‘The University of Adelaide Village’ – a UoA-managed student accommodation facility – provides opportunities to participate in learning support programs, sport and social activities all coordinated in-house. Free and unlimited WI-FI, a fully equipped computer room and wireless printer are also provided. The Scape, (non-UoA student accommodation), located directly across from UoA’s main campus, is also recommended (see: https://www.adelaide.edu.au/publications/ua/media/81/accommodation-guide.pdf).
UoA confirms that it meets all of IISMA’s criteria, and that our wide range of courses offered (20) will meet IISMA’s Expected Outcomes (as outlined in your Pitch Deck). UoA is a flexible provider and appropriate course substitutes can be discussed with IISMA.
