During my three-month stay at Yale, I experienced the peak of my social engagement. Being naturally shy and introverted, engaging in social situations has been a constant challenge for me. Thankfully, participating in the IISMA program allowed me to engage in many cross-cultural events which increased my social skills and enabled me to build meaningful connections with students and professors from all around the world. Moreover, this experienced also broadened my knowledge in fields outside my study of psychology, such as learning about anthropology and film studies. I am profoundly thankful to IISMA for giving me this transformative experience.

As a small-town girl from North Sumatra, I've always dreamt of studying abroad since childhood. I didn't think it was possible, but against all odds, IISMA made that dream a reality. This experience deepened my understanding of the importance of being in a diverse circle and putting myself out there in the international world. I gained various skills beyond my IT field of study, including leadership and communication, as a student representative at IISMA Coventry University. The lifelong relationships formed with international and fellow IISMA friends, and, more importantly, the newfound confidence, are invaluable. None of this would be possible without IISMA, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity.

Spending a semester abroad with IISMA has been a wonderful opportunity that I will always cherish. Over the 4 months, I have discovered and achieved beyond what I expected. I learned to navigate diverse perspectives, appreciate cultural differences, while at the same time promoting Indonesian cultures and values in an international community. Interdisciplinary learning at the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation has also enabled me to think holistically, broadening my knowledge viewpoint beyond the field where I am in.
