Established in 2002, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), previously known as Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) stands as a beacon of innovation in technical education. As a dynamic technical university, UMPSA offers an impressive array of engineering and technology-based programmes, including advanced Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The grand inauguration of our main campus on July 27, 2009, marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. With the capacity to accommodate up to 10,000 students and 2,000 staff members, our campus serves as a thriving hub of knowledge and creativity. Additionally, our Gambang campus, sprawling across 126 acres and designed for 5,000 students, is 30 kilometers from Kuantan, Pahang, enhancing our reach and impact.
UMPSA’s strategic location in the East Coast Industrial Belt of Peninsular Malaysia places us at the heart of a vibrant ecosystem. This region is home to numerous multinational corporations (MNCs) engaged in cutting-edge industries such as chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, automotive, and biotechnology. As a result, UMPSA students benefit from unparalleled exposure to the latest advancements in engineering and technology, providing them with a competitive edge in the global job market.
Our commitment to excellence is evident in our rankings, as we consistently earn recognition as one of the best in Research and Innovation within the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) and Non-Research University (Non-RU) classifications. At UMPSA, we are unwavering in our dedication to innovation and developing unique academic programmes through strategic international collaborations.
One of our proudest achievements is the world-class dual-degree engineering programme in partnership with a renowned German university, setting a benchmark for other public institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. Moreover, our research endeavours are closely intertwined with local industries, focusing on applications relevant to the business world. This collaborative approach enriches our teaching and learning modules while fostering the commercialization of research output and products. At Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, we envision a future where innovation knows no bounds and education transforms lives.
