Founded in 1971, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is an autonomous public higher education Institute, established under Ireland’s Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992. Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) with its staff complement of 323 academic staff and 214 support staff has earned its reputation as the leading higher education provider in Ireland Northeast through a strong record in teaching and learning, research and engagement.
The Institute is located mid-way between the two main cities of Dublin and Belfast, on Ireland’s North-South Economic Corridor, providing excellent educational and employment opportunities. Dublin and Belfast are a one hour drive from Dundalk. Dublin Airport is 45 minutes from Dundalk by car on the M1 motorway. Located on a state-of-the-art 35 hectare campus with a population of 4,000 students, the Institute is structured into four Schools: Business and Humanities; Engineering; Health and Science, and Informatics and Creative Arts, with programmes ranging from Certificate to PhD level in each School.
