Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France is a French public university, created in 2019 on the basis of the University of Valenciennes.
By changing its name, its status and its organizational structure to become the first polytechnic University in France, UPHF developed two new experimental routes: 1) a true cross-fertilization education and research between ‘Science and Technology’ and ‘Humanities’, 2) an education and research model based on skills and by-project programs, which offer a model of trans-disciplinarity, unique in France, cemented by research and innovation and valuable opportunities for students.
Our institution is recognized as a regional leader and international research player in the field of sustainable transport and mobility. Moreover, the UPHF’s has one of the best professional integration rates in France as the whole institution deeply wants to promote access to employment.
UPHF is located in the city of Valenciennes, with its 2 main campuses, a metropolis that offers all the advantages of a large city combined with the convenience of living in the surrounding countryside.
Living in Valenciennes also means living in the heart of the European economy. Indeed, the city is located near 5 international airports (Lille – 2 Paris – 2 Brussels), and has a TGV station to reach the capital in less than 2 hours.
A tramway also serves the entire city and its surroundings, free of charge for students.
UPHF pays special attention to environmental protection and welcomes its students on a green campus where it feels good to live.
UPHF is also organized to welcome and support students with disabilities thanks to the accessibility of the buildings and possible classes arrangements.
